Conditions of Booking

Definitions used in the following Conditions of Booking

The Owners       - J.C. & P.J. Nott

The Client        - the person signing the booking form

The Property    - La Roche Chabrelle, 24320 ST JUST, FRANCE

Reservations -should be made in writing by returning a completed signed booking form together with a post-dated final cheque. A paying in form will also be sent to you by e-mail or post to pay your deposit directly into our bank in the UK. Please call, fax or e-mail first to check availability.

Payment schedule     - 30% of total cost as deposit on booking

- 70% of total cost + breakage deposit 8 weeks before arrival

Reservations made more than 8 weeks before arrival should be paid for by sending a cheque with the booking form post-dated 8 weeks before arrival (final payment). A paying in form will also be sent to you by e-mail or post to pay your deposit directly into our bank in the UK. If you are not paying in Sterling then bank transfers or French cheques in Euros are accepted. Alternatively payment can be made in full at the time of booking by Credit Card via PayPal or via Western Union Transfer.

Reservations made within 8 weeks of arrival date should be paid for in full at time of booking.

Please check with the Owners for payment terms for rentals of 4 weeks or more.

On receipt of the Client's completed booking form and cleared deposit cheque or valid PayPal Credit Card transaction, a confirmation of booking/receipt will be issued.

Alterations to original booking (subject to availability) should be made in writing and will be subject to a £15/25€ administration charge. If alterations are made 0-56 days before arrival and cannot be catered for, the Owners reserve the right to enforce the cancellation fee as detailed below.

Cancellation by Client - this should be made in writing to the Owners by registered post.

Cancellation charges - from the date of receipt of the Client's cancellation letter.

More than 90 days before arrival date            - 30% of total cost

90 - 57 days before arrival date                  - 50% of total cost

56 - 0 days before arrival date                  - 100% of total cost

Cancellation by the Owners - if for any reason the Owners are obliged to cancel the Client's booking, all monies paid to date will be refunded in full. This is the limit of the Owners liability.

Heating -  Buse and Papillon have  wood burning stoves and electric heating.

Heating charges - where applicable will be deducted from the breakage deposit or an additional heating deposit will be required on arrival if you are renting for 3 weeks or more.

Hot water - hot water should be available at all times. Please do not attempt to adjust the water heater. Always refer to the Owners for any adjustments.

Linen - One set of bed linen per bed per rental period is provided. Towels are not provided unless otherwise agreed with the Owners. Bed linen is not provided for long term lets unless agreed with the owners in advance.

Laundry facilities - automatic washing machine, iron & ironing board are provided.

Cleaning - equipment is provided. The Client is responsible for leaving the house and its contents very clean and tidy. This includes washing up, cleaning oven, barbecue, basin, baths, showers, WCs, floors, returning all furniture to its original position. If in the opinion of the Owners, the house has not been satisfactorily cleaned, a cleaning charge of £15/25€ per hour will be deducted from the breakage deposit.

Occupancy - the maximum occupancy per house must not be exceeded. Infants and young children should be included when stating numbers in party.

Heated Swimming pool - 12m x 6m, open normally from May to October and heated when necessary. Cleaning & maintenance of pool is included in rental rates. No unauthorised entry to the pump house. No unauthorised use of pool equipment. Children must be supervised at all times. No access to pool between the hours of 8pm and 10am. But most of all have fun in it!

Pets - no pets of any kind are allowed at the Property unless previous agreed with the Owners. The Owners have a very friendly black Labrador and chickens.

Parking - in order to help make the site a safe one for all, there is policy of parking in a designated area at the entrance to the Property.

Caravans/tents - are prohibited on the Property.

Internet access - this is subject to availability and to the conditions in our La Roche Chabrelle Internet Access Policy. The Owners reserve the right to charge for the Internet access. Normally for light usage it is supplied free of charge.

Changeovers - the changeover day is SATURDAY unless otherwise agreed with the Owners.

Arrival times - not before 4p.m.

Departure times - 10a.m. at the latest

Keys - are collected from the Owners on-site. 2 keys per gîte are issued.

Breakage deposit - £150/€250 per gîte is payable with final balance 8 weeks before arrival. The breakage deposit cheque is cashed and refunded to you minus any deductions within 8 weeks of departure. If payment is made by Credit Card the money received will be returned to you minus any deductions within 8 weeks of departure via PayPal. See Insurance below.

Inventory - please check the inventory on arrival and let the Owner know immediately of any damaged/missing items. Similarly any breakages/damage or items requiring maintenance identified  during your stay should be reported to the Owners. The Owners reserves the right to charge for any broken/damaged/missing items. If such sums exceed the breakage deposit, the Client agrees to pay for replacement of these items in full within 2 weeks of departure.

Insurance - the Client should take out adequate holiday insurance to cover for any personal liability incurred with respect to damage to the Property caused by the Client or any member of his or her party.

Disclaimer - the Owners cannot accept any responsibility whatsoever for any injury or damage to Clients or any member of their party or any of their belongings whilst using the Property.

The Owners shall not be liable to the Client:

• for any temporary defect or stoppage in the supply of  Public services to the Property, nor in respect of any equipment, plant, machinery or appliance in the Property.

• for any loss, damage or injury which is the result of adverse weather conditions, riot, war, strikes or other matter beyond the control of the Owners.

• for any loss, damage or inconvenience caused to or suffered by the Client if the Property shall be destroyed or substantially damaged before the start of the rental period and in any such event, the Owners shall, within seven days of notification to the Client, refund to the Client all sums previously paid in respect of the rental period.

Every care has been taken in the preparation of this website. All details are given in good faith and are believed to be accurate. The Owners reserve the right to change any details without notice.

Law applicable and disputes - the law applicable to this agreement shall be French law and in the event of any disputes that cannot be resolved between the Client and the Owners, the Courts of France shall have exclusive jurisdiction.

Acceptance of these conditions of booking - completing the booking form implies knowledge and acceptance of these conditions of booking.

Party leader - the person signing the booking form is deemed to be the party leader and is responsible for all members of his/her party adhering to these conditions of booking.
